PEPP Renewal Course: Renew your PEPP Provider Status

Step 2. Complete an on-site skills component to refresh your pediatric skills with a local PEPP Course Coordinator.

After passing the final online exam and successfully completing the online education component, you will be asked to refresh your hands-on pediatric skills with a PEPP Course Coordinator in your area. The on-site skills component of the Renewal Course will review all of the skills learned in the initial PEPP Course. It will provide you with another opportunity to handle the equipment, to size the equipment, and to perform the skill under direct supervision.

You can use the Find an On-Site Skills Session link or the Find a PEPP Course Coordinator link to enroll in an on-site skills session in your area. You must arrange to attend an on-site skills session within 90 days of completing the online education component.

Note: There may be an additional charge for the on-site skills component.

On-site Skills Component Details:

1. You will be evaluated on the entire content of the PEPP Course, not just the online education component. Review your PEPP textbook before the on-site skills session.

2. Bring your certificate indicating that you have successfully completed the online education component and your American Academy of Pediatrics PEPP Course Completion Card with you to the on-site skills session. NOTE: Your American Academy of Pediatrics PEPP Course Completion Card must have been valid on the day you registered for and logged-into the online education component.

3. Complete the on-site skills component by participating in the small group scenario sessions that will review pediatric assessment, treatment, and transport skills. You will be evaluated on your performance and provided with ample opportunities to hone your pediatric assessment, treatment, and transport skills, and if needed remediation of skills. It will take approximately 3 hours to complete (including completing step 3, the original PEPP Course final exam).
