RE: PEPP rollout and “train-the-trainer” course
Dear EMS Educator:
During the year 2000, cadres of Pediatric Education for Prehospital
Professionals (PEPP) Course Coordinators were trained across the country
at PEPP rollouts. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has teamed
up with the Florida EMS for Children (EMSC) program and is currently concentrating
efforts in Florida to identify individuals who are interested in implementing
PEPP courses.
If you are responsible for educating EMTs and paramedics you are invited
to become an official PEPP Course Coordinator (see attached responsibilities)
at the “train-the-trainer” rollout to be held June 21-22 in Pensacola,
Florida.
Your $100 registration fee includes the PEPP student manual, PEPP resource
manual, breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snacks for both days, and entry
into a drawing for various door prizes. The PEPP course is highly interactive
with hands-on skill stations, small group scenarios, case-based lectures,
and webbased resources at www.PEPPsite.com.
You will be awarded a total of 16 hours of continuing education credit
upon completion of the PEPP
ALS course and the accompanying Course Coordinator Orientation.
If you are interested in registering for this course, please complete
and return the enclosed PEPP course coordinator application and registration
form with payment. The fee for participation in this two-day course is
$100. To assure quality education, especially in the small group skill
stations, attendance is limited to 50 participants.
Please direct questions to the Division of Life Support Programs at
800-433- 9016 ext 4795.
You will receive notification within two weeks after your application
has been received. It is advised that you do not make any travel arrangements
until you have been notified that your Course Coordinator application
has been approved and your registration has been processed. Information
on making hotel arrangements will accompany your confirmation.
Sincerely,
Jeff Hummel BA, EMT-I
